Capital Connection is the stage name of the West London Ladies Barbershop Harmony Club. Our members currently number over 30 and we sing a cappella (unaccompanied) four part harmony, directed by Debi Cox.

The chorus has always been of a very high standard and since 1989 has won 2 bronze, 6 silver and 3 gold medals in the annual national championships. In 1998 and 2000 the chorus also beat around 800 other choirs to reach the semi-finals of the prestigious Sainsburys Choir of the Year competition.

The Chorus is available to entertain at local and national events and concerts, singing a varied repertoire from popular ballads to Broadway showstoppers and from Bach to Verdi! The chorus also puts on its own regular shows at local theatres.

a Capital Connection rehearsalAlthough an amateur organisation, our approach and dedication are totally professional, and we are never happier than when we are doing what we do best - SINGING!

Capital Connection is a member of LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers) and is affiliated to the Hillingdon Arts Association.

Musical Director - Debi Cox

Debi Cox, Musical Director

A singing member of Capital Connection since 1996 and Assistant Director of the chorus since 2001, Debi has been Musical Director since February 2003.

Debi has been involved in instrumental music and singing since early schooldays, when the only singing group she was excluded from was the Barbershop group, as it was boys only! She has sung many styles from Gilbert & Sullivan through to Madrigals through to Choral masterpieces, including a spell with the London Symphony Chorus and the Malcolm Sargent Festival Choir, performing frequently at The Royal Albert Hall.

Debi is a judge in the Music category for the Ladies' Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) and has adjudicated in England, Ireland and Holland. She has also been an educator for BABS (the men's Barbershop Association) and LABBS at Harmony Colleges and local education days for singers and directors. Debi is also available to coach other choruses and quartets on request.
