More FAQ's
Q: Do I need to audition to come?
A: No there is no audition, all are welcome!
Q: What will I learn if I come on the course?
A: You will learn to hold your part in singing a fun song a cappella, in four part harmony. We will first warm up our voices using correct singing techniques for singing in harmony, then go into voice parts for a practice before putting it all together, adding some "moves" for good measure!.
Q: Will the members of Capital Connection already know the song?
A: If you sign up in advance, you will have access to the same resources as chorus members, Everyone will be singing it together for the first time on the evening - spending some time familiarising yourself with how the part goes in advance will make the evening more fulfilling for you.
Q: How do I know which part to sing? Will I have to sing on my own?
A: If you have a high and light voice, you may want to choose tenor which is like a delicate permanent descant. If you have a deep, rich low voice, you should choose the bass part. (If you're confused, we name the parts the same as male barbershop!). If your voice is in the middle, then you have the choice of the melody (Lead) or, if you enjoy a challenge or want to sing a harmony part, then Baritone is the one for you. You can read more about each voice part, and to verify your choice, have a listen to the tracks once you have access, and check you can sing in the range comfortably. If you are at all unsure, please reach out on sing@capitalconnection.org.uk and we'll be happy to help.
